The Original Zebra was established in 1984,  back then it went under the name Broadway's Rock because of its iconic location on Broadway & Montgomery in San Francisco, CA. The shop featured piercing services, classic 80's rock apparel as well as accessories. We served many Rock Legends such as Mötley Crüe, Bon Jovi, Judas Priest, Metallica, Motörhead, Sex Pistols & more!  In 1989 we opened a Piercing & Tattoo studio on Polk St. in San Francisco, CA. We wanted a new name that represented the beautiful patterns & artwork on the body, hence the name Zebra. In 1992 we moved our location to Telegraph Ave. & became the first Piercing & Tattoo shop in Berkeley, CA. Business was booming! In 2008 we opened our second location in Walnut Creek, CA to accommodate the high demand for body modification.
